Pain relief (urinary)

Goal: Pain relief (urinary)

Problem area: Interstitial cystisis. Bladder pain, spasms, urethra pain, urinary pain & frequency. Pelvic floor dysfunction/spasms. (Chronic condition started 5 years prior due to a bad urinary infection that damaged the bladder. It did not heal correctly and since then, bladder gets inflamed causing flares that increases in severity with each year).

Prior conditions: Allergies; excessive thirst (sometimes); headache (sometimes); frequent urination. Family history of breast cancer (grandmother) & heart disease (grandfather).

Current Medication/Prior treatments: Seen doctors: urologist & gynecologist & physical therapist.  Previous medications: Imipramine (anti-depressant), Macrobid, Vicodin/Valium as needed.  Current medication: Adderall. Also changed medication to Amitryptaline 10mg/day for: reducing depression, migraines, tension headaches, anxiety attacks, bipolar disorder, ADHD, insomnia; side effects include: drowsiness & dry mouth, weight gain, change of appetite, muscle stiffness, constipation, nervousness, blurred vision.

Notes: Patient said acupuncture has relieved pain significantly.
